Game Thread: Knicks vs. Sonics

The Knicks, winners of two straight, are back home this evening to take on the Sonics. For the last time this season (unless they make the playoffs, maybe), I will be in attendance. What we will be watching is surely a trap game, as was noted by Knickerblogger. Even though the Sonics are a poor team, we can't possibly expect more superhuman performances from the aching Marbury and Francis. (It would be nice, though). The good news is that Q Rich should be back, and Lee and Nate are possibilities. I'm looking for Mittens to rebound from his quiet performance on Saturday. He hasn't been making a lot of noise lately, but Johan Petro and Mouhammed Sene are two bonafide scrubs just asking to be beasted upon. I'm super excited for a potential Lee-Collison White Hustlerz Showdown tonight, as well.

Anyway, back to my original point. It's a potential letdown game, given that we're coming off two straight and playing a shitty team at home. I will do everything in my power to make sure the Knicks start off well, even if it means dodging security guards to get out there and start playing D. I don't wanna jinx anything but, assuming the Nets will lose tonight in Dallas, this game has some significance. That's all I'll say for now.

This is a game thread, so post any comments about the game, watermelons, magnesium, sun dials, and "Tombstone" as the night goes on. Remember more commentz=more winz. Recap later. Peace.

Way to comment, Zach. Someone's gotta take the lead in developing some friendly, Knick-related, and completely necessary banter to fuel a victory in my absence from the computer. I'd like to see at least 15 comments when I return home late tonight. GO KNICKS.

Hey, as far as I can tell from every game I've ever seen Luke Ridnour play, I'd rather have Seth deeing up on the opposing point guard. Or me. Or a limbless orphan. A limbless, yet quadraplegic, midget orphan. Jerome James. I'd take existential nothingness on d over Luke Ridnour. I've made my point.

hmm well said barn, well said. what about a dead quadraplegic limbless orphan? itd get insane sympathy points. how many ppl in the nba could take it to the hole on that defender and not feel really bad?

... kobe dosnt count.

nothing could be better than a knicks loss right now, because i'm certain the nets are saying goodbye to second place in the Atlantic tonight

zachstaa said...

yea i hate the nets. i hope they not only lose to the mavs, but lose by over 30.

To all my people who can quest like the tribe does/ Before this did you really know what live was?
Awful first half on both ends of the court, no rebounding, poor shooting, open shots all over for the Sonics, but the interview with Q-Tip was excellence. I smell a run!

i smell something cooking.

Barnesgasm said...

Malik isn't the problem, Willy, he's actually been our best player tonight.
And I always swore that my death would come before I heard those words. Oh well.
Actually, I forgot Steph, who's hitting everything. But Rose is up there.

finally defense and great offense all in the same quarter, as great as this comeback is it begs the question of why do we need to get embarrased first to play with passion?

The Redeemer said...

Steven Perez said...

Yo guys. Thank you so much for holding down the fort while I was at the game. I really appreciate the comments. Love to see that. Some questions:

Barnes- Q-Tip interview at halftime!? The one time I'm not watching on TV!? That sucks.

Barnes again- DID KENNY SMITH REALLY SAY THAT!? If he did I hope he never does a Knick game ever again. I wish someone had let me know while I was still in the building cause I'd choke his ass.

Seth said...

At least the Mavs won. Take that, Bonafied!

I'll recap after I shower and weep a little. Again, thanks for the comments. It's your fantastic commentary that makes working on this blog worthwhile for me.

Barnesgasm said...

Yes, Kenny Smith said that. I thought to myself "please, Kenny... why", and wait for the inevitable, then scream, shout, punch, kick, and return to my computer to see two seperate IMs that say, and I quote "fuck kenny smith." I smell two future YourNYK readers.
Q Tip was awesome, because, come on, its Q Tip. He sounds like he knows his basketball and has 2 albums coming out this year. Bobbito has to be one of the highlights of some Knicks games. I remember last year they had this random black guy that would come in at halftime and interview random black celebrities, heavy on the awkwardness, and Bobbito is a massive improvement. I credit him for the Knicks successes this year.
