Tuesday Crumbs

Here's what's floating around the internet the day after Curry out-Shaqed Shaq...

- Fuck. Jamal Crawford needs ankle surgery, and is done for the season. That makes two key guards done for the year, and one (Marbury) visibly ailing. It's a bummer to lose Jamal just when he was starting to find a bit of a rhythm, and I wish him a speedy recovery. For now, what does this do to the starting lineup? The Knicks are probably gonna need to sign someone in the upcoming days. By the way, check out the last sentence of that ESPN article:
New York is 26-32 and was two games out of the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs entering Tuersday's game at Boston.
First of all, they use the phrase "was two games out", which sounds very much like an obituary. Losing Crawford sucks, but I wouldn't say that this dooms the team just yet. Second of all, they refer to the Boston game being on "Tuersday", which is like some combination of Tuesday and Thursday. The game is on Wednesday.

- I read the Harvey Araton article about All-Star Weekend in the NY Times this morning, and was a little dismayed. Henry Abbott of TrueHoop addresses this article, an article by Dave Zirin, and the notorious one by Jason Whitlock.

- The ever-hilarious Hype Guy with some Knicks 'toons.

That's all for today. Leave your thoughts on the JC injury, and how the Knicks might react, in the comments. Back tomorrow (Tuersday?) for the Celtics game. Peace.

I'm cutting my wrists.

They'll push Q back to SG.. and start Frye or Jefferies again?

"New York is 26-32 and was two games out"
Also this is a grammatical error using is and was, different tenses. even if u are gonna use the past it shoulda been were.. this is just a poorly written article in general.

*I refuse to support the starting of Jerome James in any way.

Welcome, Patrick. Keep up the commenting, homie!

I too refuse to support the starting of Jerome James. It's pretty much spotting the opponent 8-12 points at the beginning of every game.

I like the first lineup there, although Lee at the 3-spot wouldn't work every night. It'll be interesting to see how Isiah deals. I figure Q will move to the 2-spot, but how is the frontcourt change gonna play out? Knowing Zeke, he'll probably throw us a curve and start Kelvin Cato at the 3 or something like that.

haha cato... or mardy collins. haha. anyways, i think we will persevere. really looking forward to the celtics KYO for tmrw.

I wouldn't mind seeing more Mardy Collins.. all we've seen of him is his ability to drop 'bows.

If this happens, Zeke is some sort of crazy genius. But as Seth said, he's not, so expect Scottie Pippen, Cato, Shaun Livingston, and at least one dead guy to be awaiting the tipoff tomorrow night. In a more serious tone, Renaldo and Nate have to step it up big time, minutes and playing quality, for us to make it to the playoffs.
